Bill Gates investing in chicken-less eggs

Another move for Bill Gates into the vegan lifestyle: chicken-less eggs. According to reports, the Microsoft mogul is to invest in the growing vegan food industry by putting his money into chicken-less eggs.

Gates is one of the investors behind Hampton Creek‘s egg substitute, Beyond Eggs, and the announcement of his involvement comes after he said the future of food lies in the absence of animal products, or vegan food.

In March, he was citing the exorbitant costs that go into killing and slaughtering animals for their flesh. The blog post penned by Gates is an ideal beginning to a year where fears of food shortages and drought are already beginning to take form. Maybe more prominent figures will follow suit.
